On January 24, the hot rolled coil ex-factory price index in the Nordic region was 746.67 euros ($813.9)/ton, a week-on-week increase of 11.04 euros/ton.

According to European market news, although the European hot rolled coil market has generally been relatively light in recent weeks, some European steel mills still maintained the ex-factory quotation of hot rolled coils for April delivery at 800 EUR/ton in the first half of this week (January 22-24), there is even a steel mill that is considering raising it to 820 Euro/ton, but so far no order with an ex-factory price of 800 Euro/ton has been actually completed. 
At present, most European steel mills are publishing hot rolled coil quotations for April delivery, and a few steel mills can still accept orders for March delivery. In the first half of the week, a comprehensive steel mill in the Nordic region quoted an ex-factory price of hot rolled coils of 760-770 euros/ton for April delivery, and some buyers assessed a more feasible actual ex-factory transaction price of 730-760 euros/ton; in the first half of the week, there were some hot rolled coil orders in the German market with actual ex-factory transaction prices of 740-750 euros/ton.

In Southern Europe, the Italian hot rolled coil ex-factory price index on January 24 was 738.75 euros ($805.2)/ton, a week-on-week increase of 8.75 euros/ton. In the first half of the week, a comprehensive steel mill in Italy quoted an ex-factory hot rolled coil price of 760 euros/ton, and another steel mill quoted an ex-factory price of 765 euros/ton. Some buyers assessed that the current hot coil ex-factory transaction price in the Italian market was more feasible at 735-755 euros/ton, the actual market transactions were light.

In terms of imported hot rolled coils, in the first half of the week, the export quotations of hot rolled coils from Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, China to Europe with shipping dates from March to April, mainstream export quotation was 650-670 euros/ton (CFR); while those from Vietnam with shipping dates in April were exported to Italy, the mainstream export quotation was 630-640 euros/ton (CFR); the mainstream export quotation of Indian hot rolled coils to Italy was 670-690 euros/ton (CFR); the mainstream export quotation of Turkish hot rolled coils to Europe was 700 euros/ton (CFR), including anti-dumping duties.
